Buying electrical supplies in Zimbabwe
Let a qualified installer select the specification, then preserve it through the quote and collection. An electrical item that looks similar can still be the wrong component for the job.
Turn the installer's list into order lines
Ask the installer to provide product ratings, dimensions and other identifiers needed by the seller. Use the supplier's catalogue to clarify naming, not to substitute your own technical judgement. Electrosales explicitly asks buyers to reconfirm branch prices and availability, which is especially relevant when a collector is travelling on someone else's instructions. Record the selected counter's response before arranging that trip.

Separate compatibility from commercial approval
The payer can approve a price while the installer approves technical suitability. Record both roles. If a quoted alternative changes a rating, mounting arrangement or connection, send the full description back to the installer. Avoid accepting a vague 'same thing' response as the final specification. Keep accessories and protection components visible where the professional has required them.
| Check | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Suitability | Installer's approved specification |
| Availability | Named branch confirmation |
| Receipt | Product identifiers and counted quantities |

Check identifiers before distributing materials
Give the recipient the final model or specification list. Compare packaging and product labels, count the units and record visible damage. Keep technical installation and testing separate from physical receipt. If the installer finds a mismatch later, retain the original quote and handover record so the seller can understand what was supplied. Do not mark an installation complete solely because a box has arrived.

Enquiry brief to adapt
Please quote the electrician's item schedule by its stated identifiers and units. If an identifier is incomplete, return the question before proposing a replacement. Show what is ready at the selected branch, what requires another enquiry and whether the quoted scope is supply only. The person collecting may count packages, but only the responsible electrician can approve a change to the required technical specification.

Putting the record into practice
A seller proposes a different component after the original item becomes unavailable. The payer forwards its full specification to the installer before accepting the revision. The collector receives the revised identifier and checks it at handover. No electrical design advice is implied.
