Halsted Builders Express: Zimbabwe buying profile
A Halsted catalogue is useful for naming a product, but your order still needs a selected store and an agreed release arrangement. Compare the complete basket, including collection and any missing lines.

Start with the store and the item code
Halsted's published catalogue contains many categories and a store selector. That creates two separate decisions: which product is suitable and which counter will supply it. Include the selected store in your enquiry and retain the product code where one is available. A screenshot of a category name is too broad to serve as a specification.
For a building project, group the basket by when the materials are needed. A single missing fitting can matter more than an available decorative item. Ask which lines are confirmed, which remain enquiries and which need an alternative.

Evaluate a basket rather than an isolated price
Prepare columns for description, selling unit, required quantity and confirmed quantity. Add delivery, cutting or other services only if the counter quotes them. Do not assume a catalogue category means that every service is offered at every store.
Where a product must match something already installed, send its dimensions or identifying label. Let the installer approve compatibility before the buyer commits. Keep the supplier's response attached to the line item so the collector can distinguish a deliberate replacement from a picking mistake.
For the next decision, see Gweru building-material orders and collections →
Separate dispatch from a complete handover
If the order leaves in stages, give each collection its own item list and keep an outstanding balance of goods. Marking the whole order received after the first load can hide missing items. Record visible damage while the goods are accessible, and ask how the counter wants discrepancies reported. A delivery note should identify what moved; payment confirmation should identify the money received.

Putting the record into practice
A renovation buyer needs paint, plumbing fittings and a door. The selected counter confirms the first two groups but has not confirmed the door. The buyer records the door as outstanding and agrees a separate decision date instead of interpreting a paid basket as a complete delivery. No stock or lead time is assumed.
Keep this with the order
Before you proceed
- Store selected before requesting a final quote.
- Product codes and selling units retained.
- Installer has accepted compatibility where relevant.
- Partial loads have separate item lists.
- Outstanding goods remain visible after the first collection.
