Ordering for someone in Zimbabwe from abroad
Name the payer, merchant and recipient, then give each person the information and authority they need. The person paying abroad should not have to infer local receipt from a merchant's message alone.
Agree the local requirement first
Ask the recipient or responsible local professional to approve the specification and destination. For an appliance, that includes the exact model and access check; for building materials, use the contractor's approved schedule. Obtain the actual seller's quote and clarify the currency, quantity and fulfilment scope. Do not assume a business profile establishes a payment method or delivery area.

Keep roles and evidence private
The payer supplies a payment claim through the intended channel, and the merchant checks the receiving record before confirming funds. Give the recipient the goods list and relevant handover instructions without unnecessarily forwarding sensitive payment evidence. If a collector is involved, state whether they can accept substitutions or only collect the approved goods.
| Situation | Next action | What remains open |
|---|---|---|
| Local need agreed | Have the recipient or responsible specialist approve the requirement. | The remote payer should see the actual selected seller’s quote. |
| Payer submits claim | Use the intended private channel for supporting references. | Recipient access to the goods list need not expose payment evidence. |
| Goods reach destination | Ask the receiving person for their own count and observations. | Leave missing fittings or later installation stages outstanding. |

Close the goods record with the recipient
Record merchant-reported dispatch or delivery separately from the recipient's acknowledgement. The recipient should identify what arrived, visible condition and any exception. Technical installation checks may follow later. A paid order can remain incomplete, and a delivery photo can leave a shortage unresolved; keep those facts visible until the parties address them.

Putting the record into practice
A payer in Manchester funds materials for a Harare renovation. The contractor approves the schedule, the merchant confirms funds and a site representative checks the delivery. A missing fitting remains outstanding despite the payment being settled.
