Buying solar components in Zimbabwe
A replacement solar component must be assessed in the context of the existing system. Preserve the installer's approved model and required accessories before asking the payer to approve a price.
Describe the existing system to the specialist
Ask the installer or technical adviser which equipment identifiers and site information are needed. Samansco offers product and consultant enquiries; Electrosales publishes products with a branch-availability caveat. Those are routes to confirmation, not proof of compatibility. Do not select a replacement solely because its casing or advertised size resembles the existing unit.

Quote all required components
Request the exact model, quantity and accessories required for the approved arrangement. Keep installation or configuration work separate from supply. If another component is proposed because of availability, obtain the installer's approval and a revised quote. A payer's agreement to a lower amount should not be interpreted as technical approval.
| Decision | Evidence |
|---|---|
| Compatibility | Installer approval of the exact model |
| Supply | Final component and accessory list |
| Completion | Receipt plus separate installation checks |

Preserve identifiers through receipt
The collector should compare the final model and package contents with the agreed list. Retain serial details and manufacturer documents. Record missing accessories before the equipment reaches the installer. Installation and commissioning require their own checks; the receiving person should not confirm a functioning system after inspecting only an unopened package.

Enquiry brief to adapt
Please quote the exact component identifiers supplied by the system designer and flag any proposed replacement for compatibility review. Show whether mounting parts, cables, controls or other scheduled accessories are included. The buyer will not approve a substitution from a product photograph alone. At receipt, record the identifiers and quantities delivered, leaving suitability, installation and technical testing with the responsible professional.

Putting the record into practice
A replacement inverter enquiry results in a proposed different model. The installer checks the proposal and requests an additional specified accessory. The payer approves the revised list only after that review, and the collector checks both items.
