Comparing solar systems in Zimbabwe
Compare systems against the loads and site requirements they are intended to serve. A headline bundle size does not describe installation scope, compatibility or an agreed performance check.
Prepare a load and site brief
List the equipment the site needs to operate and ask a competent specialist which measurements and usage details are needed. Solar Shack and Samansco publish solar enquiry routes. Use those routes to request an assessment; do not turn a package label into a guaranteed backup duration. Different sites and operating patterns need their own review.

Compare the whole proposal
Ask for equipment models, storage, protection, mounting, installation and commissioning where these are included. Identify exclusions and customer-supplied work. If a quote is provisional pending assessment, preserve that condition. The buyer should compare the same intended task rather than assume two similarly labelled systems provide equivalent results.
| Proposal field | Question |
|---|---|
| Intended use | Which loads and operating assumptions? |
| Scope | Which equipment and installation work? |
| Acceptance | Which checks demonstrate completion? |

Require a documented handover
Agree the checks that the responsible specialist will perform and record their outcome. Keep delivery, installation and commissioning as separate milestones. Retain operating instructions, serial details and applicable warranty information. A recipient should confirm only the checks they observed; a photograph of installed panels is not a measurement of system performance.

Enquiry brief to adapt
Please base the proposal on the load and site information reviewed by the responsible installer. Separate the equipment schedule, installation scope, exclusions and agreed commissioning documents. Identify assumptions that still need a site assessment. The payer needs an itemised commercial decision; the recipient needs an equipment checklist. Do not describe delivery as system completion while installation or the agreed technical checks remain outstanding.

Putting the record into practice
Two proposals use the same broad system label but include different installation work. The buyer asks both suppliers to respond to the same load and scope brief before choosing. The example is a comparison method, not a recommendation of equipment capacity.
