Buying paint in Zimbabwe
A repeatable paint order records the surface, product system, colour reference, finish and container size. Compare those choices before comparing the total number of tins.
Get the surface and colour decisions clear
Ask the person preparing the surface to identify the required product system using suitable manufacturer guidance. Dulux Zimbabwe offers colour-advice enquiries, while Nash describes paint ranges and matching enquiries. Use those routes to resolve uncertainty, not to assume that a photograph is a reliable colour specification. Retain the approved sample or reference for the actual order.

Compare coverage assumptions and preparation
Ask quotations to distinguish preparation products, primer and finishing products where specified. Keep container sizes and finish descriptions visible. If a seller estimates quantity from an area, record the assumptions and let the responsible painter review them. A general coverage statement is not a guarantee that a particular wall will require exactly that amount.
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Surface and system | Defines the intended application |
| Colour and finish | Makes the selection reproducible |
| Pack size | Makes quantities comparable |

Keep the labels for top-ups
At receipt, check the product and tint information before handing containers to the painter. Record visible packaging problems and an apparent mismatch before application. Keep the final reference and receipt for later enquiries. Where another person authorises a colour change, save that decision as a new version so the payer and collector do not use the old list.

Enquiry brief to adapt
Please use the attached room and surface schedule, retaining each selected product, finish, colour reference and container size. Identify preparation products separately rather than assuming they are included in the topcoat quote. Confirm the approval reference for any mixed colour before preparation. The decorator will review substitutions; the recipient will check the actual labels against the schedule before containers are opened or used.

Putting the record into practice
A caretaker receives a different finish from the approved quote. The caretaker records the label and asks the seller to resolve the line before the painter opens it. A similar colour does not automatically make the substituted product acceptable.
