Harare paint orders: matching, supply and application
For a Harare paint purchase, separate colour advice, the selling counter and the person applying the coating. A matching enquiry and a hardware pickup need one approved reference but different responsibilities.

Choose a reference before choosing a counter
Nash describes colour matching and gives a Graniteside contact, while Dulux Zimbabwe provides a colour-advice route. Ask for guidance appropriate to the surface and intended application. Keep the accepted sample or manufacturer's reference rather than relying on a photograph whose appearance varies by screen. The local painter should approve the product system, while the payer approves the commercial order. This guide does not prescribe a coating for a particular substrate.

Distinguish specialist advice from the sale
A colour-support response does not necessarily identify the seller who will invoice the goods. If a Harare hardware branch supplies the selected product, ask that branch to confirm the exact item, finish, tint reference and pack size. Union's listed locations are enquiry options, not evidence that every paint line is available at each counter. Keep the current seller's response with the order rather than transferring another provider's terms.
| Task | Record to retain |
|---|---|
| Colour or product advice | Approved reference and relevant guidance |
| Supply | Named counter and final product list |
| Application | Painter's separate work scope |

Make site measurements and quantity assumptions visible
Ask the painter to provide the area and preparation requirements used to estimate the purchase. Request separate lines for preparation and finishing products where specified. A general coverage statement is not a guaranteed quantity for your property's surfaces. If a payer abroad is funding the work, send the approved reference and quantity assumptions before requesting approval so later top-ups or changes can be explained against the original plan.

Check containers before the painter starts
The collector and site recipient should compare product labels with the final order. Record an apparent colour, finish or product mismatch before application, and ask the seller how to resolve it under the actual terms. Keep labels and the accepted reference for future enquiries. Merchant confirmation of payment is distinct from the painter receiving materials, and receiving materials is distinct from approving completed painting work. Each stage should say what has actually occurred.
Prepare the local enquiry brief
Prepare the Harare paint enquiry by room or surface, with the selected finish and colour reference beside every product. The Union branch choice and the Dulux advice route answer different questions; note which respondent confirmed the product and which counter accepted the order. Before mixed paint is prepared, ask the nominated decorator to approve the final reference. The collector should check labels against that accepted schedule, while any unresolved colour decision stays off the list authorised for preparation and release.

Putting the record into practice
A Harare caretaker receives paint for a property funded from abroad. The label's finish differs from the accepted quote, so the caretaker pauses that line and contacts the seller before the painter opens it. The payment record remains settled while the goods discrepancy stays open.
