Buying aggregates in Zimbabwe
Agree the material description and measurement basis before comparing aggregate quotations. A stated load is not a useful quantity until both parties understand what it represents.
Get the material specified
Ask the contractor responsible for the work to identify the required aggregate. Davis Granite publishes aggregate operations across several Zimbabwe locations, which can help route enquiries. That information does not establish which material is suitable for your foundation, slab or road. Carry the professional specification into each quote request and ask sellers to explain any different terminology.

Compare quantity and transport together
Require a stated mass, volume or other agreed quantity basis. Ask what document accompanies the load and whether transport is included or separately charged. Do not convert between mass and volume using an assumed density. If quotes use different units, ask the suppliers or responsible professional to establish a comparable basis before the payer decides.
| Quotation item | Clarify |
|---|---|
| Material | Contractor-approved description |
| Quantity | Mass, volume or explicitly defined basis |
| Transport | Origin, destination and unloading scope |

Make the tipping point part of the brief
Describe the access route and intended unloading point, then obtain the supplier's confirmation of what can be done. Identify who prepares the site and who receives the load. Record the load reference, delivery time and documents provided before the material is mixed into existing stock. Shortages, wrong material and access problems should remain separate issues in the order record.

Enquiry brief to adapt
Please quote the material description and quantity in an explicit selling unit, with transport and any other quoted service shown separately. Confirm where this order would be loaded and what the recipient must arrange for unloading. The responsible contractor will review the material selection. If the order travels in more than one load, provide a separate reference and quantity record for each movement.

Putting the record into practice
Two sellers quote the same requested material using different quantity bases. The buyer asks for clarification instead of assuming that both vehicles carry the same amount. The selected quote records the agreed basis and the document expected at delivery.
