Preparing poultry orders in Zimbabwe
Keep chicks, feed, eggs and chicken as distinct order lines. They require different product descriptions and receiving arrangements, even when the same project needs several of them.
Identify the right sales and advice route
Irvine's describes several poultry-related offerings and Profeeds describes feed products. Ask the relevant supplier which team handles the intended product. A group-level range does not prove that every product is available from one counter. Seek appropriate technical advice for husbandry decisions; this page does not prescribe animal care, treatment or feeding.

Confirm collection before arranging payment
Ask for the product, quantity unit, packaging and applicable handling instructions. The local receiver should confirm they can meet those requirements before the payer finalises the order. If a booking or allocation is needed, ask what establishes it and how changes are handled under the actual seller's terms.
| Line | Clarify |
|---|---|
| Chicks | Product identity and collection instructions |
| Feed | Species or stage, pack and quantity |
| Food products | Selected product and handling requirements |

Record each handover accurately
Give the collector a product-by-product checklist. Separate the merchant's release from receipt at the farm or other destination when another person transports the goods. Retain supplied labels and documents, and note quantity differences or visible concerns promptly. A receiving acknowledgement should not be turned into a claim about future animal performance or unobserved handling.

Enquiry brief to adapt
Please identify whether this enquiry concerns chicks, feed, eggs or another named product, keeping each supply group separate. The farm's responsible adviser will confirm requirements for live animals and the relevant preparation. Confirm the agreed collection arrangement and provide applicable handling instructions. The collector should receive the final item list and the farm contact, with any proposed change returned for approval before release.

Putting the record into practice
A payer funds a small poultry project, while a farm manager arranges collection. The manager obtains the supplier's instructions before booking transport. Feed and chicks remain separate records, and each handover identifies what actually moved.
