Ordering boards and doors in Zimbabwe
Record material, dimensions, construction and finish before approving a board or door order. When cutting or custom preparation is involved, a checked drawing is more useful than an informal description.
Turn the joiner's requirement into a schedule
Manica Boards & Doors describes hardboard, doors and blockboard; Wattle lists timber and plywood products. Ask the responsible joiner or designer to identify the required material. Do not treat similar thicknesses as proof of equivalent construction or intended use. List each board or door with its dimensions and the units used.

Approve preparation separately
If cutting, edging, finishing or other custom work is offered, ask for a dimensioned list and identify who checks it. Distinguish the supplied finished size from a rough source-material size. A remote payer should receive the approved version, not a sketch that is still under discussion. Obtain the seller's actual terms for custom work and changes before approval.

Inspect before further processing
At receipt, check the supplied material, dimensions and visible condition against the schedule. Photograph an apparent discrepancy before the goods are cut, installed or coated by another party. Keep supplier handover distinct from the joiner's subsequent work. If part of the schedule is missing, retain an itemised balance instead of confirming the entire job.

Enquiry brief to adapt
Please return a quote against the dimensioned cutting or door schedule, showing material, thickness, finish and each requested operation. Identify who must approve final measurements before work starts. Keep the accepted drawing version on the order, and show changes as a new revision. The recipient will compare the finished pieces with that version before further cutting, fixing or finishing makes a discrepancy harder to inspect.

Putting the record into practice
A buyer approves a cutting list only after the joiner corrects a measurement. The collector uses the revised list at pickup. The original sketch remains a draft and is not used to judge the delivered work.
